Fields White unto Harvest
While the disciples returned from buying food in town, Jesus had just finished a conversation with a Samaritan woman. Later, this presumably unclean woman brings many people to meet Jesus. The disciples brought no one. Jesus teaches that some people work to plant spiritual seeds, while others collect the harvest. Our efforts to plant the gospel are never wasted: others may well complete what we’ve begun. We should also be sensitive to those who have been “seeded” with the gospel, so we can take opportunities to lead them to Christ. Both are valuable and we should be ready for both opportunities.
